James Robert “Bobby” Elliott, 84 of Plymouth, NC passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Roanoke Landing Nursing Home in Plymouth, NC. He was a native of Perquimans County, Hertford, NC (Chapanoke), and was the sixth child of thirteen.
He Retired from Roanoke Farmer’s Exchange. He loved to sing and even wrote a song “Born To Be Bad.” He called himself “The Chapanoke Kid” and that’s the way he’d sign his letters he wrote from the nursing home.
Mr. Elliott was predeceased by his parents William Henry Elliott and Lucy Wood Elliott. Also, he was predeceased by four brothers: Leon Parrish Elliott, William Henry “Billy” Elliott, Jr., Ray Wood Elliott, and Cecil Ira Elliott; and one sister Hazel E. Powell.
Mr. Elliott is survived by one son James Robert Elliott, Jr.; four brothers: John Norwood Elliott (Della) of Sun City West, AZ, Carlton Eugene Elliott, and Charles Lawrence Elliott of Elizabeth City, NC and Milton Lloyd Elliott (Pam) of Roper, NC. Three sisters: Patricia Ann Elliott, Laura E. Dixon, and Margie E. Williamson, all of Chapanok-Hertford, NC. Sawyer Funeral Home is serving the Elliott family.
